Variato Café in Cologne

Really very nice staff and good service. The decor was also very nice and modern. However, that's about it. Unfortunately the food didn't taste good at all, nothing special and very carelessly arranged and unfortunately long waiting times and the shop was really not full, with us three tables. Price-performance ratio absolute flop. What a shame!

I genuinely adored this place, it was calm and the food was amazing. The service was great and it was a very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend.

Very clean and open. • Open counter I was completely happy and will visit Variato many times again.

Ordinary location. Friendly staff, but you can wait a little longer for your order. In my opinion, the dishes are a bit too much sucuk-heavy. This sausage can be found in most dishes. The bowl is delicious, as are the eggs. The bagel platter for two is OK. Parking here during the week is somewhat problematic and associated with luck. The sweet things look delicious, but the description of allergens is very imprecise.

The cafe is just great. The staff member was very personable and the food (cookie dough) and drink (tea) were delicious. I will definitely come back. Price-performance ratio is also great.

I just ended up here by chance and discovered the perfect combination for me: Pleasant flair & fast WiFi, very delicious coffee, even with numerous plant-based milk options and a rich and appealing breakfast. The staff is attentive and efficient. I am not in the southern part of the city too often, but I am happy that I now know where I would like to go again at the next opportunity.

Super great food and friendly staff. Price-performance simply excellent ?? The only thing I would have to complain about and that is again a matter of taste is that I find the walls too naked. A few pictures would possibly create a little more cosiness, but otherwise everything is TOP! Oh yes and please be patient. You have to wait a bit, but it tastes good ?

Was here for the first time today ... The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. However, the waiting time is underground, the shop is not large and not many guests can fit in. We ordered our food at 11 a.m., it came to the table at 11:56 a.m. That is far too much for the small shop where there were barely 30 people. Something urgently needs to be done here, so that your guests would go out much happier.

Exceptional customer service and food quality. Setting is also very well organised. Would definitely recommend for breakfast and dessert.

Beautiful breakfast served with affordable prices

I enjoyed the whole experience with delicacy, good music and spacious place at a reasonable price. The Cookie dough is a must try type of thing in Cologne, taste can be customized too. The friendly staff makes one feel like very welcomed. Highly recommended.

I've only been there once so far, but there is no way it will be the last. I ordered a San Sebastian cheescake with white chocolate and a chocolate chip frappe. The cheescake was great. The serving on the plate with an extra bowl to pour the chocolate over yourself had a lot of class and the color harmony of table and plate made it look very nice again. The frappe was a little too sweet for my taste, but still very good. The only thing I would have wished for would be the frappe being served in a glass, which the shopkeeper is probably already working on. In addition, it would have been even more pleasant if the ice cubes didn't stick to each other, but were broken beforehand. The furnishings: very cozy and inviting. There is also pleasant background music. Summary: Price-performance ratio is great! The service is very friendly and personable ?? Highly Recommended!

Highly recommended restaurant. Always polite staff who would like to have a short smaltalk to convey a more welcome feeling, the general facility is very inviting, comfortable and spacious. No seats in a row, which is why there is the feeling of being locked in / closed with the partner. In addition, the price-performance ratio is really great. The food was great, but cold, uncomfortable interior with the character of a baker. In addition, my iced coffee was served completely in plastic. It doesn't have to be :)

The food was delicious, but I find it very uncomfortable there. But of course that is a matter of taste. For me there is one big point of criticism, namely that my iced coffee, although I ate and drank on site, was served in a plastic cup with a plastic straw. I think this is unnecessary waste and produces garbage in a place where it is not necessary. So, dear Variato team, think about the environment and rely on glass and reusable straws! :)

Comparing with other places in the city for breakfast and brunch, it is nothing special and it is more interesting to know other places. The waiting times for ordering, for drinks to be served and finally breakfast were too long (I understand that the room is understaffed). The large breakfast for two is somewhat disappointing and does not contain anything too special. The pancakes were better.

Incredibly nice atmosphere, very courteous and thoughtful service! Every single customer is valued here. Special requests are not a problem - on the contrary, they are implemented with special attention to detail. I felt very comfortable here and can only warmly recommend the food and the coffee.

I am extremely satisfied and can recommend to everyone to eat here several times! Every dish is unique and a taste bomb. Especially the hearty dishes melt the palate and you fall in love with the exotic taste that you didn't know before. The pomegranate syrup that is served with the sucuk + egg with waffles makes your mouth water (now one of my favorite dishes). The Cinnamon Buns are also recommended, they are extremely tasty and prepared with love for the customer. There is something for everyone here. The staff are very hospitable and the cafe looks very modern. The rear lounge in particular is very pleasant and attractive. I will be visiting more often and can recommend it to everyone!

The deserts & drinks are delicious and the staff is friendly. Hands down one of the best places in Cologne and defo a place to come back to!

Great place. Pretty, elegant yet comfy. Wi-Fi available. VARIETY of desserts available that are pretty AND delicious. ( Get it? because of the Variato...okay I'll stop xD) Chilled out place to hang out at in the afternoons. Definitely recommended!

Today we went to the Variato with our employees. Recommend everyone to go there because the food was exceptional and delicious! Top service and price-performance ratio was perfect! As of today, this café is one of our favorites and we will visit it more often.

Nice café with nice interior and outside seating. We had a very good breakfast (in the afternoon :)). Everything is apparently freshly prepared, nicely arranged and tasted very good, there are also vegetarian / vegan dishes. Service was also super nice and the waiting time was reasonable.

The desserts are amazing and the service is great as well, overall very nice experience.
